God's little miracles

This bird started coming to our window yesterday.  It was so funny, it kept pecking the window and would just look in like "what is going on in there"  It woke me up this morning pecking, but I haven't seen it the rest of the day.

Bleeding heart that just came up. One of the exciting things about moving into a new house is seeing what plants come up in the spring.  Here are a few of ours.
Our lilies.

Luckily our fruit trees didn't freeze.  I was praying they wouldn't and I guess the Lord answered my prayers.  I'm so excited to be able to watch our fruit grow from blossoms into yummy fruit.

Walking the walk

Brooke and Spencer went out after dropping us girls off and fished for a few more minutes.  The girls started walking down the new overflow that they built on Wide Hollow.  The reservoir is so full, it only has about 2 feet till it overflows.

I had to get a picture of me.

Saturday

Sam had his first Scout day camp on Saturday and was so excited to go.  It was kind of sad for Brooke and I since this was about the first thing, outside of school, that he had done without us.  I can't believe he's already to be doing things without us.
Brooke, Shianne, Spencer, Solayna and I went fishing at Wide Hollow.  It is such a gorgeous lake.

Solayna always wants to go fishing, and on the boat we were only out for about 5 minutes when she started saying she wanted to go home.  Brooke gave her a pole and she was a natural fisherman.  She would reel it in and I would cast it out for her.
Shianne really doesn't like fishing at all, but I convinced her to go, telling her I used to take my book when my dad went fishing, and that was the only reason I went.  She brought 2 books along, and just read the whole time.
Spencer is a truefisherman.  He is just a natural and could cast this thing as well and I could.
Brooke spent most of his time trying to get the motor going.  We haven't used it for like 3 years, so it took some working on it, but we finally got it going.
Shianne was all smiles when the motor started and we started cruising across the lake.
Solayna LOVED going fast and over our wake.  She would set there and bounce herself up and down even when it was smooth.

We didn't catch any fish, but we sure did enjoy our boat ride and being out in the beautiful area around here

Little Eygpt

On Friday we wanted to get out and about and even though it was a little chilly we took off on the 4 wheelers and went up to Little Egypt.  I love to go up here exploring and seeing all the beautiful creations.
It was a lot colder than we thought it was going to be, and by the time we got up here we were all about froze.  Luckily we had extra clothing in the 4wheeler.  Shianne is such a great sister and is always helping Solayna out.  This was a pretty steep hill and Solayna finally asked for me to help her.
Spencer had to wear one of my jackets that was in the 4wheeler and I think he looks pretty good in pink.  He knocked this flower off when he was coming down the hill so he brought it to me.  They are always trying to pick me flowers but I'm trying to teach them not so so other people can enjoy the beauty of them.
Brooke and I ran tog et teh 4 wheelers and Solayna was determined to stay with the older kids, so we decided to let her.  I about had a heart attack when I looked back and they were right on the edge of this cliff.  I took off running to my 4 wheeler, but Shianne and Sam made sure she was safe.
They helped her go down the steep hill telling her to sit on her bum and slide.  It was so cute to watch them work together to get her down safely.
 Our little town.
I love to see flowers out in the desert, and they are very few and far between, so I enjoy every one I see.
I've never seen these cactus roses before and they are just gorgeous out in the desert.  I had to make sure I got pictures of them, so Spencer, Solayna and I went back the same way we came to make sure I got pictures of them.  Thanks goodness I had Spencer since he's the one who spotted these.

Mother Daughter Date

The "achievement day" girls, 8-12 year olds in our church, did a mother daughter date.  We got to go watch a video of why they love us, and then had refreshments and Shianne gave me a flower she made.  It was a lot of fun to be with Shianne.  I love you Shianne you silly girl. Shianne said, "mom, I don't know what to say, but I hope you have a happy Mothers day!"

Shianne's hair cut

I finally got some decent pictures of Shi's new haircut.  It is so much easier to straighten now.  She seems to like it, and I think it is still adorable.  I saved all the hair I cut, which was about 4 inches, and I'm hoping to make her a doll with her hair.  We'll see if I can figure out how to do it.

Fixin' hair

Sam and Spencer had a desire to fix hair, so they had Solayna sit for them while they fixed her hair.  It was so cute to watch them as they were combing her hair, and her reaction.  She was a good sport for quite a while and then got sick of it.

Shianne's dance revue

Last night was Shianne's Dance revue and she did a fantastic job.  We all loved watching her.

Shianne has developed the bad habit of biting her nails.  She does it constantly and her poor nails are about obsolete.  We've tried "Thumb" and painting her nails, and sitting on her hands, but she still does it.  Any suggestions on how to get her to quit?

We all loved watching Shi dance.  The boys were enthralled with it, and Solayna was so happy to be able to be with her Grandma Gay watching Shi dance.
