tissue fingers

Solayna got into some glue that Brooke had just told her not to touch and Brooke didn't know what to do so he put tissue on her fingers so her fingers wouldn't stick together.  She thought it was pretty funny.

Ice Fishing

Sam and I had to run to Cedar City to get one of his brackets put back on and we found an ice house on sale so I bought it for Brooke for Valentines day.  Knowing he wanted to go ice fishing on  Sat. I gave it to him early.
It was supposed to be a gorgeous day, but it turned out cold and windy.  I guess it shouldn't be anything new since it is Fishlake.  Anyway, I was so glad we had that ice shack.  Solayna and Spencer both fell in a hole so they were soaked.  Spencer fell in and Brooke and I both watched him, so I went over to him, and he was sitting down and just looked up at me.  I said, "Did you just fall in"  He said, "I'm fishing"  I said, did you get soaked?  Are your pants wet under your snow suit?"  He said," I'm fine, I'm fishing"  What a true fisherman.  He was soaked, but  was still out there without a coat on and sticking his hands in the ice cold water to get the ice out.  He's nuts.
Shianne, Solayna and I don't really love the fishing part of it, but do it because we love our boys. I mean what female loves to walk 200 yards in 8 inches of snow just to get to a bathroom that is locked. Shianne started teaching Solayna how to make snow angels.  After Solayna fell in the hole she pulled a fish out, and then we went in the ice shack.  Shianne had been at a party late the night before, so she was exhausted.  She and Solayna fell asleep in the shack.  It was so nice and warm in there.  Brooke and the boys caught a few fish, and we all had a great time.

little birds

Solayna noticed some little birds outside so I went to the window and was talking to her about it.  The next thing I knew Spencer had our camera and was taking some pictures of us looking out at the little birds that were out on the snow.

Spencer

Spencer was supposed to get baptized on the 27th of January, but on Friday he started getting sick, and by Saturday morning his throat was so sore and swollen and red and gross, that Brooke and I knew he had strep throat.  So we made some phone calls and cancelled it.  On Sunday he was talking funny because it hurt him so bad to talk, and Brooke and I were worried about him being able to breathe his throat was so swollen so I took him to the ER on Sunday.  Thank heavens for our Kindle as Spencer HATES driving and it is an hour and twenty minute drive just to get to the ER.

Jr. Jazz

Brooke and I started coaching Jr. Jazz basketball with the 3rd and 4th graders in January.  We love being able to spend time with each other and the kids and their friends.  We have been having games against each other, since we have 20 on our team, every Friday.  The kids all love it, and it sure is fun to coach them and watch them develop their skills.  Sam and Shianne have improved so much this year.  Last year Shi couldn't even come close to the rim, but this year she's made 2 baskets during games.  She was so excited.

Blocks

Spencer and Sam have had a ton of fun building different buildings with their blocks and then taken a TON of pictures of it.  They are so funny.  I love these blocks that have kept them entertained now for 8 years.

My little pink "Sunbeam"

Solayna went to Sunbeams this year, and loves it.  She is such a big girl and even gave the opening prayer her first Sunday in Sunbeam.

Sam's new braces

Sam got new braces on the 19th of January.  His poor teeth were so sore  that night and was so tired of me asking to see them that I'm surprised he let me take his picture.

Grandpa's Lamb

We stopped by Grandpa Tom's house and he had Shianne go in and catch a baby lamb so Grandpa could cherrio his tail.  Shi was so brave and wasn't even scared when the momma sheep was stomping her foot.  Shi sure loves her animals.

Presentations

Sam and Shianne have to do presentations every month.  Last month they had to do poems and Sam did one on Paul Bunnon by Shel Shilverstein, and Shianne did one about roosters and cats.

They also had to role play someone and Sam did Dieter F. Uchtdorf and Shianne did our Aunt Florence who was a WASP and the first woman in Utah to get her pilot license.
