Sledding

It snowed a ton here so Brooke pulled out the 4wheeler and pulled the kids on the sled.  I love that we have this road through our property so we can pull the kids.
Spencer and Shianne going over the ramp that Sam built.  Check out the air they caught.
Sam's boot fell off when they were riding.  We hurried to get to it before Cocoa could take off with it.
Shianne and Sam on a different ramp.  They hit it just right so the snow came right up into their face.  Shianne was NOT very happy about it.

Reading Nook

This is our reading nook where the kids love the hang out and read their book on their comfy bean bags.  (notice the bookcase Brooke built me).  Brooke just happened to be getting home at the moment I snapped this picture and is waving through the window.
All the kids were excited to see their dad.

My Helper

Solayna gets so excited when its time to vacuum.  The other day I let her do it, and she was so excited.

Solayna my mess maker

Solayna is into climbing on everything lately.  The toilet, to the counter, up the kitchen sink, and as she is so proudly showing us here, up on our "homework station"  One of the kids forgot to put their stool back up after doing homework, and this is where she ended up.
How can you get made at that adorable smile.  She has a look of, Look what I did mom!!"
I use lotion instead of gel to fix Solayna's hair and when she gets her lotion she puts a TON on her hair.  The funny little thing.

SICK, SICK, SICK

My kids have all been sick this last week.  Spencer puked on Saturday, and then started fevering that night. He missed a whole week of school, even his Valentines party (which I was in charge of).  Here they all are doing their homework that I would go and get for them every day.  Shianne started fevering Monday night, and didn't stop until Sunday.  It was such a nasty bug.
My poor buddy Sam has been sick for like 2 weeks.  He got a nasty fever and cough and then got a little better so he was the only one going to school on Tues and Wed, then Wed. night he woke up at 1 :30 with shooting pains in his ear.  I gave him some medicine and put a hot rice bag on it.  He got up just absolutly miserable.  At 2:30 he went in and puked.  The poor kid had caught Spencer puke bug and got ear infections all in the same night.   He was up until  4:30 when finally exhaustion over came him.  I got in the shower that morning and got out and found him in our window seat asleep. While Brooke took Sam to the Dr. which was 40 minutes away, and then he had to drive to get the medicine, another 40 minutes away, Shianne and Spencer did puzzles.  Shianne had been up with Sam during the night also with a fever.  We all watched a Planet Earth movie together at 3:00 am.  What a night!!

Valentines day

For Valentines we had Potato Casserole with a heart on it, and Sam and Shianne decorated for us.  Sam wanted to do something Chinese since it was the Chinese New Year.  So they decided on writing "I LOVE YOU" in chinese.  We found the symbols on line and printed them off.

Solayna started fevering and was feeling horrible.  I had to hold her through most of the meal.  Luckily she snapped out of it the next day.
We told the kids we had a special surprise for them, and they were so excited to see what it was.
Brooke being so good at making sure it was a surprise.
Marshmallow guns!!!!

Solayna was the beneficiary of all the marshmallows.  She loves to get shot so she can eat them.

Shi and her dog

The other day we were playing basketball and Shianne was on my team.  I went to pass it to her and she wasn't there.  I looked over and she was laying on Cocoa just as content as can be.  Cocoa turned around and started kissing her.

Solayna's many shirts

Solayna got her shirt all wet so I told her to go get a new one.  A few minutes later I realized she still was in her room and this is what I found.

She was ticked off when Brooke was trying to take them off.  He counted 7 onesies she had put on.  The funny little thing.

New blog

I had to start this new blog, because I had used all the free space on the other one.  I have been updating this one for some time now, just haven't gotten around to inviting anyone till now.  I have a load of posts, feel free to look at all of them, or just a few.  I'm mainly doing this for journaling/scrapbooking, so hopefully I'll be updating weekly from now on.  Leave me a comment once in a while if you look.

Solayna and her hair

This morning as I was trying to figure out what to do with So's hair, I noticed I had some greenish elastics that would match her sweater, so we did an elastic hair do.  I just started parting and added as I went.  This is what we ended up with.  Isn't my little girl so sweet?
Solayna is 21 months old, and is learning to talk so much.  Her new favorite saying is, "Sammy Meanie" or "Shi," or "Pencer" replacing Sam's name.  She says, "What Mom, What"  She is so funny with all her little sayings and new words she says.

Shianne's dance

Shianne has been in dance and LOVES it.  She was sick for their last performance so this was her first performance and she was so excited and nervous.  She prayed that she wouldn't be nervous before we left.

This is her "I"m so NERVOUS!!!" look.

Shianne and her cousin Kysha

They practiced the dance out in the hall before they performed so I got these shots of her.
The boys were fasinated by Shianne dancing, and as soon as she was through practicing it they ran up and gave her five and said, "Great job, Shi"  "You did fantastic"  It was so cute.

She loved doing her ending pose, and was so cute at it.
Going out to the gym to perform.  Shianne always makes sure everyone is in their right place and points everyone where to go.

Look at that pirouette, or whatever it is called.  I love her face.  You can tell she is concentrating so hard.
The end!! Shianne did such a great job and loved being out there performing.  She was so excited.
